In the first-ever wrestling event following a Maine professional hockey game, several of the best and brightest of Limitless Wrestling stole the show on the same stage with some legends of the 207.
The event was a non-LW show that took place after Sunday’s Maine Mariners (ECHL) win over the Norfolk Admirals at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland — a venue that has seen many memorable pro wrestling moments and stars in its decades of existence.
LW World Champion Ace Romero teamed with MSP and Bobby Ocean in eight-man tag team action, picking up a win over a quartet of former EWA stars in The Road and Let’s Wrestle alum Adam Booker, former WWE wrestler Thomas Santell (fka Antonio Thomas), former WWE SmackDown GM Brian Black (fka Palmer Cannon) and the dastardly Dr. Heresy.
The main event saw two familiar faces, Maine legends, and LW alumni in Scotty 2 Hotty & Dirty Dango reunite to pick up a win over nZo (fka Enzo Amore of WWE fame) & another LW alum in Mo Jabari.
Given the events of last summer and fall between MSP and Dango, there was a high level of security backstage to ensure no tempers flared.
Fresh off his outing in the Let’s Wrestle title shot battle royal at Hard to Handle, Cousin Larry returned to action alongside WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas as they picked up a win over The Road alum B.A. Tatum & Blade Bandit.
Former LW title challenger JT Dunn opened the show with a win over Teddy Goodz.
Former EWA stars and owners Steve Ramsey and Alexander Worthington III (Scott King) were also in the house as was Rich Palladino on ring announcing duties and Nate Speckman as one of the night’s two referees.
It was the first non-WWE event in the Cross Insurance Arena (fka Cumberland County Civic Center) since a 2009 TNA house show. Yes, that was a thing that happened!
