First-ever WARZONE steel cage match set for Limitless Wrestling's WARZONE
By Josh Nason
For the first time since July 2018, a Limitless Wrestling event will feature a steel cage match but not just any cage match but an eight-person WARZONE cage match in the tradition of WarGames seen in WWE and WCW.
The match will be part of the aptly-named WARZONE, set for Saturday, May 17th at the Westbrook Armory in Westbrook, Maine. Tickets are on sale now for this 7 PM event — the first time Limitless has been in Westbrook in six years.
The show is sponsored by Rugged Roots Trading Post.
**********
On one side, Limitless World Champion Channing Thomas will team with Anthony Greene, Aiden Aggro & J-Heru while on the other, former champion Ace Romero teams with Gabby Forza, Aaron Rourke and a fourth member to be named.
This, of course, spins out of the latest skirmish between the Sidney Bakabella-powered crew that really formed when Greene turned on Dezmond Cole and helped cost him the title this past February. Aggro and Heru have been allied with Bakabella since last summer and with the former two-time champion joining their band, no one has been safe.
But a growing group is tiring of this fearsome five-some including Rourke who was unsuccessful in his attempt to take the title at April’s Necessary Evil. He and Gabby Forza have put the Bakabella crew on notice and were joined by Romero who is more than tired of Greene’s antics given their extensive history.
A wrinkle: who will join Team Romero at WARZONE? It looked like former champion Alec Price might be the guy, but he accidentally nailed Rourke, leading to Thomas pinning him in the aforementioned title defense. Rourke and Forza walked away from Romero and Price, leaving the past rivals to stare at each other in disbelief as the show ended.
So, here we are. A cage match to help settle the score but one team is down a player at the worst possible time. With less than two weeks to go, will they find an ally?
Here’s the current card with more to come:
