Limitless Wrestling Beerly Legal results: Three advance to VLC, two new title challengers emerge
By Josh Nason
The big news coming out of this past Saturday’s Beerly Legal (available for free on YouTube) was the emergence of three new Vacationland Cup qualifiers as the opportunities to get into the annual tournament are dwindling.
Former Limitless World Champion Alec Price, Aaron Rourke and Aiden Aggro join Conan Lycan as the first four official in the the August tournament with more spots on the line at July’s Crunch Time — the final stop before August.
In other big news, two new title challengers have emerged, one through a challenge and the other through a much different challenge.
Following the night’s main event where titleholder Channing Thomas once again picked up a title defense by hook and by crook over Gabby Forza, Dezmond Cole challenged the champion to a title match at the VLC with no one at ringside and no interference. That challenge has yet to be formally accepted, but would be massive if it comes to pass.
The other challenger is Thomas ally Aggro who defeated Milo Mirra to not only qualify for the VLC but take Mirra’s previously earned anyplace, anytime title shot from March’s Bissell Brothers Bash. The two were squabbling before their match when Mirra offered to put the shot up if Aggro put up his and J-Heru’s presence at the VLC.
Heru quickly accepted and after a hard-fought bout, Aggro picked up the win by devious methods. The win now takes a potential wrench out of Sidney Bakabella’s plans and helps protect Thomas…for now.
Here’s the full results from Beerly Legal:
Aaron Rourke defeated Zak Patterson to qualify for the VLC: Rourke survived Patterson’s power, but the Limitless rookie still came up short in his upset bit. Rourke advances to his third straight VLC tournament.
Alec Price defeated Bear Bronson to qualify for the VLC: In one of the tightest battles of the year, Price backed up his words to Rourke before the match to advance for the fifth time. Bronson’s mini-win streak is snapped and he now has to hope for a spot in July’s Last Chance Battle Royal to win his way to the tourney.
Aiden Aggro defeated Milo Mirra to qualify for the VLC: Mirra had a bad night, losing both his VLC bid and his guaranteed World title shot. Aggro now heads into his second straight VLC tournament and is looking to erase last year’s loss to Cole.
Scotty 2 Hotty, Ace Romero & Keagan Garland def. Swipe Right (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) & Jose Zamora (w/ Miss Suzannah): Two kids from Maine and the next generation took pleasure in beating up some pretty faces on the other side of ring which saw double worms and a package piledriver to finish them.
23 HAZARD def. Seabass Finn: In a hostile environment, 23 HAZARD persevered and upended Finn in a grudge match. He may have had a handful of tights, but that was merely to help Finn avoid a wardrobe malfunction.
Limitless World Champion Channing Thomas (w/Sidney Bakabella) defeated Gabby Forza to retain: This got started before the show as Forza confronted Thomas and Bakabella and got a belt shot to the face for her trouble, completely knocking out a front tooth (seen above). That didn’t stop her from being present for her big opportunity.
You know the playbook by this point: Forza was rolling as Thomas underestimated her and she was justthisclose to winning the title when Bakabella got involved. Referee Eric Greenleaf was knocked out and the entourage of Anthony Greene, Aiden Aggro and J-Heru ran out and put the boots to Forza. Aaron Rourke and Bear Bronson eventually came out to run off Heru and Aggro leaving Thomas and Greene alone with Forza. Dezmond Cole then ran out to save the day, ducking a Thomas superkick meant for him that caught Greene instead.
